Journal it! probably has the most powerful home screen widgets on Android. With widgets, you can view, make new, and take actions on notes, todos, habit trackers,... right from your device’s home screen, without opening the app.

How to set up widgets?

The way to set up widgets differs from devices to devices. For most of the case: Long press an empty space on your device’s home screen -> Add Widget -> find the widget you want to add -> long press the widget and drag to your home screen.

Notes widget

Show all your notes in one widget. The notes list is the same as notes you see in Planning tab of the app.

What you can do: start a new note, open or edit an existing note, add a new note item, check off a note item.

Single note widget

Similar to Notes widget above but only for a single note.

What you can do: start a new note, open or edit an existing note, add a new note item, check off a note item.

Planning widget

Show your upcoming to-dos, today’s habits, and notes.

What you can do: quickly overview and check off to-dos, habits, and take actions on notes. You can also tap the “+” button to create a new entry/text note/list note/to-do/write later.

Planning for collection widget

Similar to Planning widget above but for a specific collection (a journey, an activity, a tag,...)

Habits widget

Display the habits you need to complete for today. 

What you can do: check off habit’s slots, open a habit, create a new habit.

To-dos widget 

Display upcoming to-dos. You can create a new to-do or check off a finished one right from here.
